It was a rainy night in the fall semester of my senior year of college. I just got off work - probably around midnight, and had a lot on my mind. A situation in my personal life was on my mind, so I called a friend. The phone call was long, and he gave me a piece of advice that has stuck with me since: “…behavior patterns don’t come from nowhere, something in her past made her into who she is today.” My friend’s an OG. Has a helluva story. When he says some real shit like this, I listen. Look, being honest with ya’ll, that situation resolved itself pretty unspectacularly, but I’m glad it happened. As I said, his words stuck with me. It’s some real shit.
Los Angeles in the early 1980s was, in hindsight, a sitting duck. The onset of the crack epidemic - spearheaded by the CIA, (just to remind you how honest and moral our government is), was a few years away. Crack devastated South Central LA, de-stabilizing the entire area leading. It’s no surprise to me that many Black Americans feel slighted by our government’s criminal behavior, among else. It took a journalist by the name of Gary Webb to uncover all of this. Webb later died in 2004 after taking 2 bullets to the head. His death was ruled a suicide. I’m not making that up.
Los Angeles also had another epidemic growing, this one, much different. On June 5th, 1981, the first AIDS case was reported in Los Angeles. In May of 1983, a JAMA article detailed “the possibility that routine close contact, as within a family household, can spread the disease.” It further hypothesized that AIDS might not be just a blood born, sexually transmitted illness. Surely, this could do major damage not only in the States, but to humanity. Furthermore, the article stated that the evidence of an infant with AIDS “should at least alert us to the possibility that we are truly dealing with AIDS in children,”despite that we need more evidence.
The press did what they do best. Headlines like “Household Contacts can Transmit AIDS,” “Does AIDS Spread by Routine Contact” echoed the article. This sent surrounding coverage into a frenzy. It was mostly punditry and politics with little scientific background. Pat Buchanan used the author’s comments to cast blame among the gay community and moralize their actions. Victims of AIDS were then cast out as “lesser than” and the mainstream discussion focused more on ridicule than prevention or treatment. The entire process greatly angered activists, who protested at the NIH. They believed their government was letting them die, and that they weren’t told critical information that can keep them safe from this disease.
It was later discovered that AIDS, as stated earlier, is only transmitted sexually. As for the case in the child, Arye Rubinstein, an immunologist, explained that AIDS was transmitted from the mother to the child. Ah, looks like all that panic was for nothing. Well, this would be all said and done, if not for the fact that Rubinstein learned that the author of the JAMA report did not read his paper.
The author of the JAMA report went on radio 2 months after he published his paper, saying “It is absolutely preposterous to suggest that AIDS can be contracted through normal social contact like being in the same room with someone or sitting on a bus with them. The poor gays have received a very raw deal on this” - completely different and contradictory than what he previously said; AIDS may be spread through close contacts. And yeah, “the gays” did receive a raw deal (honestly great unintentional pun) on AIDS. The community probably would’ve fared better if the author of the JAMA article didn’t publicly speculate on research findings and scare the public. They would’ve fared better if he was honest and up front about their risk. They would’ve fared better if he was forthcoming and met them half way. They would’ve fared better if Dr. Anthony Fauci, the author of the JAMA article, did his fucking job.
Late in the night on Tuesday, June 1st, 2020, a FOIA request issued by Buzzfeed Investigative Reporter Jason Leopold obtained e-mails to and from Dr. Anthony Fauci. They’re quite revealing. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites:
In my opinion, this is the most benign of all of the telling e-mails that he sent. In this e-mail to Sylvia Burwell, who served as the HHS Dir. under President Obama, Fauci very clearly outlines scientific backing behind why masks don’t exactly work to contain COVID spread. Fauci fans will scoff at this, indicating that the science changed. We’re just following the science, y’know. Oh really! Did it then? Well, genius, how’d it fucking change? That’s the thing. It didn’t. Virus particles are small enough to escape masks (hey don’t come at me, Fauci said it). They always have been and always will be. Why did the advice change? I genuinely don’t have an answer to this question other than mass hysteria.
Here we have Robert Eisinger writing an incredibly detailed e-mail to Fauci regarding the initial outbreak in Wuhan. He states key points that lockdown skeptics have been saying for the past year: the data out of China is unreliable, lockdowns were for the CCP to save face and control the optics, foreign reporters were getting their credentials pulled for trying to further investigate, and the spread in the States has largely began late 2019.
Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself: the head of the Coronavirus Response Team, the Nation’s Leading Infectious Disease Expert, just received critically important and detailed information about a new, rapidly spreading infectious disease. Since much is unknown about this disease, this email should prompt further emails and conversations between Fauci and Eisinger so they both could truly understand the magnitude of the disease and any potential mitigation strategies. See, they’re just trying to do their job, keep people safe, and keep the country moving. As men of science, it’s important that they follow the science.
Here’s Fauci’s response:
Yep! Completely balked at the email. Didn’t even read it. In my opinion, this is negligence to the umpteenth degree and should warrant enough action to excuse Fauci of his duties. He’s not doing his job, he failed to obtain key information from that email, which further put the country at risk to both the coronavirus and the failures of consequential lockdown politics. What a fucking sham. Honestly. This is indefensible. This is disgusting. You have the highest paid government official making north of $400,000 a year and he doesn’t have enough time to read a fucking email. You want to know how fast I read that email? Less than 5 minutes. Wouldn’t be the first time Fauci didn’t read critically important scientific information.
This email is my favorite. Early on - January 31st, 2020, Kristian Andersen e-mailed Fauci about the origins of the virus. The big thing here is the last sentence - some of the features look potentially engineered. Fauci later had one of many phone calls with his team of scientists. The big thing here is that Andersen never publicly followed up on this; throughout the past few days, people have questioned Andersen about the potential for a a lab leak to have caused the pandemic. He hasn’t provided a scientific explanation; in fact, I just checked Twitter - his account is gone and he deleted 5,000 tweets. Clearly a man of science. Clearly.
Look, at the end of the day, you can judge these emails for yourself. I only provided a little bit of them. Although they provide a pattern of behavior - Fauci playing semantics, covering his own ass, they’re not meta. That’s what’s important here.
See, our country has a history of propping up government officials as national heroes. It’s dishonest at best, blatant propaganda at worst. During the days of the Iraq War, none of the media pushed back on George WMD Bush and his outrageous lies, backed by the intelligence community. None of the media questioned Dick Cheney and his relationship to Halliburton. The State and the media, at that time, were essentially unilateral. At its highest, 68% of Americans approved of Cheney (this was in 2002. It began to decrease in 2005).
The same thing happened during COVID. Andrew Cuomo won an Emmy despite killing nursing home residents and covering up the data. Despite skeptics, conservatives, and anyone who had been screaming about the nursing homes since summer of 2020, it took until Feb. 2021 for the media to do their fucking jobs. Gavin Newsom’s never ending lockdowns (that he repeatedly broke, by the way) were praised by the media as tough and serious. I’m sure this is completely unrelated, but California has worse numbers than Florida and experienced a population decline for the first time in its history. Great fucking leadership. Recall that asshole.
The Uniparty has propped up Fauci more so than any other government official mentioned in this piece - maybe in history. The Biden admin won’t fire him, Jill Biden has called him a “national hero,” and the media can’t seem to get enough of this guy. He has bobbleheads, magazine covers, and threw out the first pitch at a Washington Nationals game last summer. The general population has been blatantly influenced to love this guy.
So it’s no surprise to me how they reacted when the emails dropped. Instead of doing actual journalism - sifting through the emails to realize what was important and what isn’t, asking tough questions, writing detailed articles, asking sources, etc. they did this instead:

The State will always cover itself. CCPNN and MSNPC are essentially the PR Firm for the Democratic Party. Dismissing Fauci’s questionable decision making in his emails as a “right wing smear campaign” instantly tells the sheep who to attack and, more importantly, to pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. They play this card all the time.
It’s a limited hangout in this case. The media told you about the emails. They reported that he responded with a nice, professional tone to most senders - whether they were concerned citizens, supporters, reporters, or fellow scienticians, trying to go for the “AWWWW LOOK HOW NICE HE IS” angle (liberals love symbolism). It doesn’t go deep enough. It doesn’t reveal actual information that is pertinent to the coronavirus and the restrictions in America. It doesn’t mention Peter Daszak, EcoHealth Alliance, or Gain of Function Research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. See, if they reported deep enough on any of those matters, it just may paint Fauci in a bad light, and we can’t have that now, can we?
All of this was intentional. Fauci was propped up to serve a purpose - get Joe Biden into office. This isn’t some Q Anon level bullshit here either. It’s so fucking easy to see. The pundits reported on Fauci as an anti-Trump; the guy to stand up to Orange Man. Trump said “Statement A”, but it was actually B that was science, Fauci reminded us. Trump said X, but scientifically, Fauci was there to explain that Y actually had evidence to support it up. Reporting around him felt like “Saint Fauci’s science hour” where the press would sit around at a lesson like a little lapdog instead of actually do their job and ask him questions that actually matter. You’re all fucking adults. Act like it.
That’s his entire operational framework within the media, and the main reason why he rose to mainstream fame. It’s no surprise me that Joe Biden appointed him as his Chief Medical Advisor upon winning the election; nothing to do with science, everything to do with politics - sticking it to Trump, the Republicans, the skeptics, the anti establishment people. We won. It worked. There’s nothing you can do about it. He took a victory lap.
It’s more than disappointing that in an afternoon, I was able to look into Fauci’s history and recognize a pattern of behavior that is still present in his current professional life and public statements, yet the media is willfully silent. It’s more than disappointing that the scope of influence presented by the government is only challenged by internet-based skeptics, only to be lauded down as “deniers” or “anti-whaetevers” by people who are coping for their inferiority complex, essentially rendering them as useful idiots by dishonest government and media actors. None of this will change. Fauci is just the latest example. Among all else, it’ll be interesting to watch what happens. As of writing this article, Fauci is still hailed by the Biden Admin and the MSM, but that soon may change as more information surrounding his funding decisions is revealed and as more skeptical people speak out and more neutral people remain skeptical. That will show up in a focus group, we have to give it time. Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will scatter.

The number of emails fauci forwarded to others with a “deal with it minion” tone amaze me. As does the number of people who write to him as if he’s their savior. He doesn’t need any help putting himself on a pedestal, he does that for himself, but that is how people see him.
